ABOUT THE airport

Arturo Michelena International Airport is the main airport of the Central Region of Venezuela. It has an easy access to the International Markets and is located in the industrial zone of Valencia, which is considered as one of the most important manufacturing complexes of Venezuela. Which later on makes it a factor for its development as one of the main airports in the Region. More than 60% of air cargo that moves in Venezuela corresponds to the airport, making it the main airport freighter country, while the rest of the airfreight is mainly divided between the Maiquetia and La Chinita, and other smaller airports.

History

Arturo Michelena International Airport was inaugurated under the mandate of President Jaime Lusinchi and Governor Oscar Celli. The first official flight was made by a DC 9 aircraft from Aeropostal (El Margariteño). The Arturo Michelena Airport has tracks and ramps that meet all the international aeronautical requirements, so it is recognized by the DEA and FAA and is one of the Airports in the country.

Transportation

The passenger can travel from the Airport through taxi services. There is a car rental service, with three (03) companies operating at the airport: Hertz Rent-A-Car, Europcar, Thrifty Car Rental from Monday to Friday from 6.30am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 12pm and From 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Bugdet, every day from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
